The 2016 Wisconsin State Fair is almost here and we need volunteers to help with the many Foundation activities. Foundation Fair Volunteers work 4 hour shifts that include a break. Volunteers also receive a volunteer t-shirt and a fair ticket to enter the grounds on their volunteer day. It's a great way to support the WI State Fair!
Following are the volunteer hours and duties we're looking to fill:
2016 WI State Fair Park Foundation Volunteer Opportunities
Thursday, August 4 – Sunday, August 14 – Wisconsin State Fair
Location: Wisconsin State Fair Park
Shift: Four or Four and ½ Hours
Volunteers: 21 per day (2 – 3 volunteers at 3 locations for 3 shifts each day)
1. Foundation Booth – Open from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Volunteers staff the Foundation Booth located on 2nd Street - give information to the public about Foundation activities and how the Foundation supports Wisconsin State Fair Park as well as sell pull tabs and Robinade.
2. Kiddie Pig Slide – Open from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Volunteers staff the children’s pig slide - collect fees, assist at the top of the slide, assist at the bottom of the slide.
3. Racing Pigs – First Race is at 10:30 a.m., Last Race is at 7:30 p.m.
Volunteers sell Robinade within the Racing Pigs Arena 20 minutes before the start of each race, which take place daily at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. 2:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the race, volunteers hold donation buckets for Racing Pig patrons to drop in their coin and dollars for the Foundation.
Volunteering at the WI State Fair is a great way to support the Foundation's efforts for 4 hour while partaking in the Fair fun.
